Lucy was on a nearby property where a woman was breeding goats to sell. No one was buying, and the woman suffered a traumatic injury and realized she could not care for them any longer. We agreed to take in Lucy and her two new babies, Hershey and Fawn, as companions for our other LaMancha goat Rosie who recently went blind.

We didn’t want to separate any of Rosie’s friends from the herd, but it was no longer safe for Rosie to live in the large pasture where she would sometimes become lost and unable to find shade, water, or food. So when we heard about some LaMancha goats (like Rosie!) who needed rescue, we couldn’t say no. Both of the babies are already loving Rosie, and we hope that one of them chooses her as a lifetime companion so Rosie can always be safe and feel loved.
