Angel lived on a black angus ranch in Northern California and had given birth to stillborns 2 years in a row. As cows are only given 2 opportunities to produce a calf on this particular ranch, Angel was tagged for slaughter.

A neighbor of this ranch had witnessed Angel mourning over her stillborn calves for a full 7 days each, and her heart knew she had to help. She was determined to save Angel from her fate and reached out to the ranchers to negotiate an arrangement for her to live her life at Sweet Farm.
